Conservation Training
Wetland Restoration: Restored Sites Training
May 1, 2024
9:00 am – 3:00 pm
Location: N8712 Harry Road, Wisconsin Dells, WI
This training will help Conservation Planners, Biologist's, and Engineering Staff see what the restored wetlands look like after being restored. We will identify drainage features that drained this wetland and identify what conservation practices we used to restore hydrology back to pre-drainage conditions. Participants will get to see practices that were installed including tile breaks, ditch fills, embankments, water control structures, pump removal, and seeding. We will visit 2-3 sites depending on time. On site we will discuss the importance of maintenance and management of these restoration sites. Sites are also located in floodplain and wetlands so we will discuss permits that were obtained.
This event is rain or shine.
Please bring lunch with you as we will be eating on site.
Be prepared to get dirty (bring boots) as restored sites can be very wet!
