From Stories to Solutions: Building a Wisconsin Task Force for Natural Climate Solutions with the Wisconsin Academy of Sciences, Arts & Letters

Join the Wisconsin Academy of Sciences, Arts & Letters and Wisconsin's Green Fire for the second talk in the Wisconsin Climate Stories series! This event will feature three storytellers with deep connections to Wisconsin's forests, and their personal stories of how climate change has affected their work and personal lives.

The second part of the event will feature a discussion led by Wisconsin's Green Fire on forming a Wisconsin Natural Climate Solutions task force.

Speakers will include:

  • Joe Hovel: Joe Hovel has practiced land conservation for decades, and as head of Partners in Forestry Cooperative he has been a tireless advocate for others, leading by example.
  • Dwayne Sperber: Dwayne Sperber is a champion of the environment and has dedicated himself to advancing the urban wood industry across the United States. His mission is to support and protect the urban forests by promoting the use of socially responsible and sustainably supplied urban wood.
  • April Stone-Dahl: April Stone-Dahl is an Ojibwe Black Ash basket maker from the Bad River reservation in northern Wisconsin. She has been harvesting basket material from the swamps where the tree lives and making utilitarian baskets since 1999.
