Soil Conservationist

The Grant County’s Conservation, Sanitation, and Zoning Department is recruiting for a Soil Conservationist. This position will implement soil and water conservation programs and policies, including but not limited to the Farmland Preservation Program, Agricultural Enterprise Areas, Nutrient Management Planning and NR151. They will provide planning, technical assistance and outreach related to conservation practices, with priorities guided by the County’s Land & Water Resource Management Plan. This position is also responsible to assist the active Farmer Led Watershed Councils of the County. See link above for details.

Environmental Engineer - Eau Claire County

Position performs professional level engineering responsibilities of review, research, development, design, planning, construction, and approval for conservation best management practices as well as storm water management and erosion control plans for new development in Eau Claire County. Position provides technical support to the Eau Claire County Land Conservation Commission and technical advice and assistance to area property owners, organizations, and governmental units regarding soil and water conservation practices.

Position will include aspects of technical assistance, education, outreach, and grants and program management. Candidates will have the ability to take ownership of the programs they administer and be encouraged to develop novel approaches to best serve surrounding communities. They're seeking a dynamic, self-starter with a passion for progressing Soil Health and Grazing Agricultural Best Management Practices in their local communities via outreach, education, and technical assistance. Director of Center for Watershed Science and Education

Horticulture Program Manager

The Horticulture Program Manager position is an integral part of the UW Madison Division of Extension's Agriculture Institute. This position will work with Institute Educators, Outreach Specialists and Extension Faculty Specialists to plan, design, deliver and evaluate research-based horticulture programs. Forest Wildlife Specialist

Established in 1961, the Ruffed Grouse Society (RGS) is North America’s foremost conservation organization dedicated to creating healthy forests, abundant wildlife, and promoting a conservation ethic. Together with the American Woodcock Society (AWS), established in 2014, RGS & AWS work with private landowners and government agencies to develop critical wildlife habitat utilizing scientific management practices. RGS & AWS has entered into a collaborative agreement with the Natural Resources Conservation Services (NRCS). Together, RGS & AWS and NRCS are looking for a motivated individual to work effectively with private landowners and other stakeholders in the west-central region of Wisconsin. The Forest Wildlife Specialist will function as a Wildlife Forester, providing conservation technical assistance. Apply by June 23.
