Soil & Water Conservation Specialist
The Iowa County Land Conservation Department is seeking applicants for a full-time Soil and Water Conservation Specialist position. This position helps protect and improve soil and water quality by implementing conservation programs and policies, including the Farmland Preservation Program, NR 151, and Nutrient Management Planning. This includes contacting landowners, conducting site visits, mapping, contracting, organizing trainings, and assisting with conservation issues. Position will provide technical assistance, cost-sharing, and outreach to farmers related to agronomic conservation practices such as nutrient management, cover crops, and no-till. Starting pay is $26.21/hr. and a generous, comprehensive benefit package is provided.
