Fall Technical Tour
The 2018 Fall Technical Tour is being hosted by the Rock County Land Conservation Department. This is an educational tour that highlights various conservation practices. A summary of the tour is below:
8:30 We gather at the shelter at Traxler Park (600 N. Main Street, Janesville, WI)
9:00 Load bus and go the MacFarlane Pheasant Farm - This is the world’s largest pheasant farm where we'll see a tub composter and driveway bridge. There will also be a demonstration of the wind row compost for the pheasant manure.
11:30 Back to Traxler Park for lunch
12:30 Load bus to go to Camp Indian Trails - Glass Pond and an earthen dam (with concrete and aluminum outlet pipes).
1:15 Head to two stops in Fulton Township - historic CCC structures and a new diversion/WASCOB structure. If time allows, we'll also stop by a 30-foot high rock riprap bank at the site of a former dam.
3:00-3:30 Back to Traxler Park
