2014 Wisconsin Envirothon

The 2014 Envirothon was held at UW-Stevens Point's Treehaven on Thursday, April 17 in Tomahawk, Wisconsin. Schools from across the state braved the ten inches of snow for an excellent competition.

Despite having to move the testing stations inside, the students were in good spirits and had a great time participating in hands-on challenges and testing their classroom knowledge. The teams were given three weeks to prepare their group presentation on this year's topic - Sustainable Local Agriculture/Locally Grown Foods.

The presentation topic is based on a current conservation issue. The scenario is developed by a Wisconsin natural resource professional and provided to the students three weeks before the event. The team presentations provide an opportunity to solidify fundamental knowledge on an issue through the practice of public speaking and presentation.
