Laura Jach Smith, of Pollinator Partnership, will provide a detailed review of winter identification for herbaceous plants commonly found in pollinator plantings, including native species used in conservation mixes, common weeds, and invasives. Species will be presented in both their mature flowering stage and senescent winter stages, so you can build confidence for conducting site evaluations any time of the year. Special attention will be given to species look-alikes, and tips on conducting site assessments for pollinators.
