Location: Webinar

Many glacial lakesare suffering from chronic nutrient and sediment pollution, and there is a lackof scientifically defensible data needed to for pragmatic restoration. Thispresentation will illustrate the need for a more robust lake scientific study designthat accurately quantifies lake health as the first step in lake restoration, which is a team sport. The presentation will use examples from northern Indianalakes where nutrient and sediment monitoring were conducted to prioritizetributaries for nonpoint source pollution control. Leveraging these data havehelped to designate the lake in the National Water Quality Initiative anddirect increased funding to on-the-ground conservation.
