November 16, 2022

7:00 pm – 8:00 pm
Location: Online and Stevens Point

Wetlands are important landscape features helping manage the water that flows through our watersheds. Join us this month for our presentation titled, Wetlands, Water, Wildlife, and Watersheds, with our presenter, Tracy Hames. He will address what wetlands are, why they’re important, the status of wetlands in Wisconsin, and how you can help protect and care for the wetlands in your community.

Executive Director, Tracy Hames and staff help individuals and communities throughout Wisconsin gain the knowledge and guidance needed to protect and care for their local wetlands. After obtaining his master’s degree in Natural Resources from UWSP, Tracy moved west and worked for 22 years as a waterfowl biologist protecting, restoring, and managing watershed-scale wetland projects on the Yakama Indian Reservation in eastern Washington state. He returned to Wisconsin in 2012 to begin work with Wisconsin Wetlands Association. WWA is a non-partisan, science-based, statewide non-profit organization dedicated to the protection, restoration, and enjoyment of Wisconsin’s wetlands.
