Conservation Training

The Watershed Applications of ACPF

September 20, 2022

9:00 am – 11:00 am
Location: Online

The Watershed Applications course is a free training designed for non-GIS users at the federal, state, and local level who want to use ACPF results in their watershed planning or practice implementation processes. This session will focus on Ohio and the Western Lake Erie Basin but participants from all regions are welcome to join as many of the concepts and themes will be broadly applicable. This workshop will give an overview of what goes into the process when a GIS Specialist runs the ACPF, review case examples of the different ways ACPF has been used in a watershed planning context and give tips and tricks for displaying and sharing ACPF results and using the ACPF to engage partners.

The Watershed Applications course is designed to give participants an understanding of the technical basis of the ACPF and how ACPF can enhance conservation efforts. After completing the course participants will be comfortable working with their local GIS specialist to generate ACPF results for use in watershed and farm-scale planning, as well as incorporating ACPF into existing state processes.

Class will be held virtually 9am-11am over three days September 20, 22, and 27. No GIS experience is required.
