The Value of Grain Crop Rotations and Southwestern Wisconsin Producer-led Network Field Day

Free field day for farmers, agronomists, and conservation professionals to learn and discuss making management decisions for optimum crop yield, water quality, nitrogen and weed management using diversified grain crop rotations to increase resiliency and farm profitability. Topics include touring two crop rotation studies featuring corn, soybean, wheat, and alfalfa production practices using no-till, tillage, rye cover cropping, ryelage production, and planting green. Following the field day, farmers and collaborators involved in the Wisconsin DATCP producer-led grant groups are welcome to stay for lunch and a short afternoon Southwestern Wisconsin Producer-led network meeting. Certified Crop Advisor CEUs have been applied for.
The event is organized in collaboration with the Nutrient and Pest Management Program, WiscWeeds Lab, Agriculture Water Quality Program, Lancaster Agricultural Research Station, University of Wisconsin-Madison College of Agriculture and Life Sciences and Division of Extension and the University of Wisconsin-Platteville.
