Solar Leasing Seminar

UW-Madison Division of Extension Presents Solar Contract Seminar for Farmers
UW-Madison Division of Extension and the Wisconsin Farmers Union will host a seminar for landowners on contract considerations when leasing their land for solar development.
The seminar will take place on February 7, 2025 from 12:30pm to 2:00pm at the Northwoods Brew Pub, 50819 West Street in Osseo, WI. Please

Kelly Wilfert, attorney and Farm Law Outreach Specialist with Extension’s Farm Management Program, and Bill Oemichen, attorney and Professor of Practice-Law with Extension’s Local Government Education Program, will discuss opportunities and risks in solar contracts, and other considerations for those individuals contemplating a solar contract. Sherrie Gruder, LEED AP, Distinguished Sustainable Design & Energy Specialist with Extension, will review the current state of solar energy in Wisconsin.
This workshop is part of a statewide UW-Madison Extension program to engage Wisconsin communities on large-scale renewable energy development and storage, funded by the U.S. Department of Energy Renewable Energy Siting through Technical Engagement and Planning (R-STEP) program.
