Since 2014, Stantec Consulting Services Inc, Lakeshore Natural Resource Partnership, and Glacierland Resource Conservation and Development Council, Inc have been developing the most comprehensive invasive Phragmites control program in Wisconsin with funding support from the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources’ Surface Water Grant Program, federal grants, and local contributions. Together with many partners, we have identified, mapped, and treated thousands of invasive Phragmites populations across Manitowoc, Sheboygan, Ozaukee, Calumet and Fond du Lac counties and our program is now expanding to Kewaunee, Brown, Outagamie, Winnebago, and Waupaca counties.
Join for a virtual update on our Regional Phragmites Program. They will share program background, current work, and future plans as well as how the DNR, counties, municipalities and others can partner to support the program. In addition, we’ll hear from the DNR on the progress of the statewide Phragmites plan.
