Managing your Community’s Floodplains Webinar: Disaster Recovery Reform Act Section 1206

January 26, 2022

9:00 am – 10:00 am

The NFIP works with communities required to adopt and enforce floodplain management regulations that help mitigate flooding effects. However, when disaster strikes community staff and resources can be stretched thin. To speed recovery and enhance NFIP compliance post-disaster Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) is now authorized to provide resources through Section 1206 of the Disaster Recovery Reform Act of 2018 (DRRA Section 1206). DRRA Section 1206 authorizes FEMA to provide communities with resources to administer and enforce building code and floodplain management ordinances following a major disaster declaration through FEMA’s Public Assistance (PA) Program. This webinar will discuss the details of the 1206 policy, eligibility criteria, and how a local community can access this resource.
