Please join to learn more about implementing grazing plans and infrastructure on farms.
This workshop is meant for conservation planners who are new to rotational grazing or those wanting to refine their planning skills.
The workshop will begin at the MATC campus in Reedsburg. Topics covered in the classroom will include:
Grazing philosophies - why do we graze?
Grazing 'Arithmetic - how to calculate forage needs, paddock sizes, etc.
Grazing Tools/Equipment - take a look at pipeline, reels, fence, etc.
After lunch on your own, you will see a portion of the farm that will be converted to rotationally grazed pasture this spring. We will discuss seeding methods, species mixes, fencing layout, and livestock pipeline layout.
