Conservation Training
Grazing Engineering Training
February 29, 2024
9:00 am – 2:30 pm
Location: Dodge County Administration building, 127 E Oak St., Juneau, WI 53039
We will talk about all engineering grazing practices, and a little about fencing. This is an opportunity to learn about how to design and plan some of the engineering practices involved in a grazing plan.
Prescribed Grazing is becoming more and more popular in our area. This training is geared toward planning/designing engineering practices as well as implementation and as built data. We will discuss different types of pipe and different install techniques, livestock waterers, hydrants, backflow prevention, heavy use areas around a waterer, stream crossings, roofs, lanes... every engineering practice related to grazing. This will be a classroom setting where we can look at a grazing plan, work through the spreadsheets, share pictures, and discuss any and all things grazing... but remember it is an engineering training.
Bring your own lunch. There are limited options in Juneau. We will have 45 minutes for lunch, so plan accordingly.
Bring your computer if you would like so that you can plug in numbers for the grazing spreadsheet.
