Grassland 2.0 Fall 2022 Digital Dialogue - People, nature, and ecosystem services: The role of place-making in conservation and science

October 18, 2022

12:00 pm – 1:00 pm
Location: Online

This spring Grassland 2.0 is once again hosting our monthly Digital Dialogue Series! In the fall of 2021 the Digital Dialogues Series focused on what makes a healthy agroecosystem. This spring, we are changing lanes and will be focusing on the levers of change for our agricultural system. Tune in and hear about the policies, legal reforms, and partnerships needed to transition to regenerative farming.

This session will feature Dr. Elena Bennett, Professor and Canada Research Chair in Sustainability Science at McGill University (and UW-Madison alumna!). Tune in as Elena Bennett introduces ResNet, a pan-Canadian project that spans six place-based working landscape projects to develop an Ecosystem Services Observatory Network for Canada. In this talk, she will show how ResNet is using place-based science to answer partner questions, improve scientific understanding of ecosystem services, and contribute to Canada’s Census of Environment.
