Managed Grazing Organic Grassfed Dairy in partnership with Chippewa Valley Producer Watershed Council and members. Mahalko Dairy has a Chippewa County farming connection dating back to the 1800s. Many farming practices have been utilized from the time of horses to a line of respectable tractors and mostly haying equipment these days. Dairy cows and youngstock are the main tool for harvesting pasture directly and at the highest possible quality for cow and pasture health and performance. We will look at the multiple ways managed pasture can conserve and enhance our farm resource bank with healthy soil. Multiple no till and conservation tools and will be discussed. Ecologist, farm and woodland resource enhancer Stephen Thomforde will help assess the various species and practices used to promote soil health and a healthy farm crop and woodland future.
