Developing climate-responsive agricultural extension and advisory services: lessons and opportunities

February 22, 2024

8:00 am – 9:00 am
Location: Online

Climate change is affecting the lives of everyone on the planet, with smallholder agricultural producers in low and middle-income countries being disproportionately affected. To mitigate the complex agricultural challenges posed by climate change, there is a need to sustainably increase agricultural productivity and incomes, adapt and build producers’ resilience, and reduce and/or remove greenhouse gas emissions, wherever possible. Achieving these objectives requires behavior change, improved access to climate-resilient technologies and practices, knowledge and skills for increasing productivity, climate and market information, income diversification assistance, and better support to communities so they can organize themselves better for collective action.

In response to challenges with developing efficient and effective, climate-responsive agricultural extension and advisory services and systems, the USAID-funded Enabling Farmers for Agricultural Transformation (EFAT) Project, executed by Winrock International, is hosting a series of webinars and learning events. The upcoming webinars will focus on sharing experiences, best practices, and lessons learned about different aspects of EAS.
