Community Science Pollinator Count

July 27, 2023

11:00 am – 12:30 pm
Location: Stillwater, MN

We began counting pollinators on the 14-acre native grass and wildflower area in 2018. Based on our counts, we knew we needed to amp up the nectar flowers. Wildflowers specifically for at-risk pollinator species were low. Volunteers planted 1,000's of nectar plants, and seeded more including lupine, blazing star, flox and butterfly weed.

Join us to count floral visitors like bumble bees and butterflies. This data will contribute to national numbers to help protect pollinators.

Dress for the outdoors. We will be walking through tall wild flowers and grasses social distanced outdoors.

Park in the Pine Point Park parking lot and go to the trail directly north of the lot to check in outdoors. We will provide parking and counting tabulation materials.
