Climate Smart Dairy in Wisconsin

January 24, 2023

9:30 am – 4:00 pm
Location: Madison, WI

The title of this year’s Forum is “Climate Smart Dairy in Wisconsin” and will start with presentations by UW-Madison, Division of Extension, and industry experts on the status of Wisconsin’s farm economy, including the current Situation and Outlook for dairy, corn and soybeans, livestock and meat, and cranberries, as well as farm income and Wisconsin’s economy. The afternoon session will cover the various climate smart initiatives throughout Wisconsin’s dairy supply chain that aim to help farmers and industry implement sustainable production practices. To start, an academic perspective on climate smart agriculture will be provided by presenters from UW-Madison and the University of California-Davis. Next a group of practitioners from around the region – representing farming and broader interests – will discuss their efforts and perspectives on climate smart practices within Wisconsin’s dairy industry. A panel discussion will follow each section, and there will be time for audience questions.
