This course covers basic survey techniques for the design and installation of engineering practices. Topics include survey note-keeping, differential leveling, distance and area measurements, staking, and checking instrument accuracy. Various pieces of survey equipment will be introduced and used, such as hand levels, self-levelers, laser levels, survey grade gps, and total survey stations. Participants will establish benchmarks, set- up instruments, perform profile and cross section surveys, traverse, and close. Area training.
