The Algal Bloom Action Team is once again hosting their Virtual Harmful Algal Bloom Symposium this January 9-10, 2025! 2024’s event The symposium brought over 600 water professionals from across the region together to hear the latest research on HAB monitoring, treatment, outreach and communication. It also included a special feedback session posted by the NOAA Ocean Acidification Program on freshwater acidification the concerns, priorities and intersections with harmful algal blooms. This year’s event will focus on four key themes: monitoring, forecasting and detection, prevention and treatment, human dimensions and climate change impacts. The call for abstracts is currently out – be sure to submit your abstract by Tuesday, October 22nd!
